Best Budget RGB Gaming Keyboards (2023)
There are quite a few major reasons that you should always choose a good keyboard for gaming because a good experience is all about your keyboard, your keyboard response time matters in gaming, the button’s smoothness matters, and also the number of conflict-free keys matters the most because if you are playing some competitive games there you will have to click multiple keys at a time which can cause conflict in some keyboards.
The best gaming keyboards are the ones with good switches, more RGB LEDs, Good Ergonomics, and a higher number of conflict-free keys, and we have chosen six of the best keyboards that you can consider if you are having a budget under $50 and wants the best keyboard with all the above qualities I mentioned.
Is an RGB keyboard good for gaming?
Yes, RGB Keyboards are better than non-RGB keyboards for gamers, because in games one of the most attractive words people use is RGB and without RGB gaming is not gaming, so make sure you get a good RGB keyboard for an attractive gaming setup. As for the performance perspective, there is no advantage of an RGB keyboard as compared to a Non-RGB Gaming keyboard and also RGB keyboards are a little more expensive than None–RGB keyboards.
Which brand has the best RGB Keyboards?
The best RGB Gaming Keyboards are built mostly by the Redragon, Razer, and Corsair brands but I have not included keyboards from Razer and Corsair brands in this Best RGB budget Keyboards guide because they are expensive if you want to go for a good keyboard from them.

Redragon S101 Wired Gaming Keyboard and Mouse Combo RGB Review:
If you are looking for a good RGB Gaming Keyboard but also need a new mouse then you should go with this combo which also has a gaming mouse-pad with it. This combo is one of the best-selling RGB Gaming Keyboard and mouse combos in all the stores and also has got the most positive reviews.
The gaming performance of a keyboard defines whether it is good to buy or not, the experience you gets by playing game on a keyboard is the main test of any Gaming keyboard, if it was satisfying or good then you can buy it but how you will know that which keyboard is providing good gaming experience?
Gaming Experience:
Here I will tell you, I will say that this keyboard is a good mid-range keyboard for gaming because the first thing I liked about this keyboard is its solid build quality, the second main thing about this keyboard is the number of conflict-free keys in this keyboard that are 25 and for gaming the higher the number of conflict keys the better will be gaming experience with that keyboard.
There are quite a few more things that you should check in any gaming keyboard like the RGB LEDs, this keyboard has a total of 7 different RGB Zones, also should make sure whether the keyboard is Antighosting or not because Anti-ghosting keyboards make sure that your key presses are sent without any error and with the same order they were pressed this helps improving overall gaming experience because in competitive games these factors matter too much.
Ergonomics:
After the gaming performance of any keyboard, the rest of the points are counted for the ergonomics of any gaming keyboard, because we know that gamers can play continuously for hours which makes them tired, to overcome any kind of bad experience while gaming your Mouse and keyboard need to be very good Ergonomically because that will allow you the long gaming sessions you wanted.
This Keyboard comes with a proper wrist rest where your wrist will be placed and your hands will not get tired easily. The keys are very soft and easy to touch, and the bounce of the keys is superb so these keys cannot have any kind of bad effects on your gaming experience and will also make your gaming further easy.

2. Redragon K552 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard 87 Key Rainbow LED Backlit Wired with Anti-Dust Proof Switches for Windows PC
Redragon K552 Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review:
Redragon is always the most recommended brand for RGB Gaming keyboards as our guide includes two of the Redragon RGB Keyboards one was Redragon S101 and this one is Redragon K552 Mechanical RGB Gaming Keyboard. This Keyboard is better than the S101 Redragon Keyboard from my point of view because this is a pure gaming keyboard.
This keyboard has per-key RGB lighting, and each section of the keys can glow different RGB Lighting colors which looks so good. All the keys on this keyboard are conflict-free which is insane because many expensive gaming keyboards only come with 20 to 25 conflict-free keys and this one beats them all.
Design:
The design of this keyboard is pretty good but one thing to mention is that this keyboard doesn’t have a numeric keypad which is bad, but for gaming, this size of the keyboard is better because it takes less space and is more comfortable, so if you are looking for a pure gaming keyboard then you must consider this keyboard.
Blue Switches:
The body of this keyboard is very solid, it’s smooth and the keys are soft and easy to press. This keyboard uses blue switches which is a very good implementation by Redragon because they are more attractive to gamers and they make a strong clicky sound when the key is pressed.
Ergonomics:
The best thing about this Keyboard in the ergonomics is the low key travel distance which will help you click more efficiently and accurately even if you are new to this keyboard. The Overall build quality of this keyboard is very good, but for ergonomics, I will give this keyboard a little low score because this keyboard lacks any wrist-rest There is another model of this same keyboard that comes with better ergonomics and also a wrist-rest so you can buy that one if you need one with wrist-rest.
Evidence Review:
The Pros:
- Good value for the money
- Low pre-travel distance.
- Full RGB lighting with Individially-backlit keys./li>
- Great build quality

3. SteelSeries Apex 3 RGB Gaming Keyboard – 10-Zone RGB Illumination – IP32 Water Resistant – Premium Magnetic Wrist Rest (Whisper Quiet Gaming Switch)
SteelSeries Apex 3 RGB Gaming Keyboard Review:
First of all, I will tell you that this SteelSeries Apex 3 RGB Gaming Keyboard is not better than the above Redragon K55 Gaming Keyboard by gaming performance but its better than any of the above and below keyboards by the build quality, so if you really want a gaming keyboard which looks very premium and solid then you can go for this keyboard.
Gaming:
The gaming performance of this keyboard is not bad at all, it performs very well but first of all the switches this keyboard uses are silent switches, and gamers mostly like clicky switches but it will not affect the performance of the keyboard, also this keyboard is very responsive which is a good point for gaming.
Design:
This keyboard has some Beautiful RGB lighting with very easy-to-use software support where you can get many options for controlling the RGB of this keyboard. It has fully programmable keys and there are dedicated media keys on this keyboard that you can use to swap between songs and manage volume. This keyboard is a fully water-resistant keyboard which means you will have no fear of the keyboard getting damaged from any liquid like water or coffee.
Ergonomics:
Ergonomically this keyboard is very good because it has a full-size wrist rest where you can place your hands whether left or right which will prevent your hands from getting tired and the keys are soft and silent which doesn’t annoy anyone who is using it. The typing experience of this keyboard is best for any gaming keyboard, overall the keyboard is very good at ergonomics.
Bad Points about this keyboard (Cons):
One of the big cons of this keyboard which I didn’t like at all is the high latency of this keyboard for gaming it’s better to go with a low-latency keyboard so you can prevent any kind of delay for your pressed keys and to get them registered in games immediately. One more thing I didn’t like about this keyboard is the lack of any game mode because gamers need something extra and better and if this keyboard is not providing that then it may be irritating for many gamers.

4. AULA Mechanical Keyboard, 87 Keys Wired Mechanical Gaming Keyboard, RGB Backlit Keyboard with Brown Switches for Windows Laptop PC Mac
AULA Mechanical Keyboard Review:
Here is one of the most beautiful RGB Gaming keyboard which has beautiful different colors on the keys, the colors are drawn by a pattern that makes the keyboard looks awesome. This Keyboard is one of the best-looking keyboards I found, which is also very valuable because of its cheap price. It is only priced at $29.99 which is less expensive than the above-branded keyboards.
Gaming:
This keyboard has soft keys, it has good response time, and it is a rechargeable and detachable gaming keyboard. This keyboard has brown switches, brown switches are silent but noticeable when got pressed or clicked, brown switches also have higher resistance when fully pressed they bounce back so quickly, which means that you can have a fast and quick gaming experience.
Ergonomics:
This keyboard is one of my favorite keyboard look-wise and for its beautiful RGB lighting, but ergonomically this keyboard is just fine, its not the best one because it doesn’t have any wrist-rest, etc for resting your hands but overall this keyboard has good reviews for its usability and people are very satisfied with it.
Evidence Review:
The Pros:
- A good budget RGB Gaming keyboard
- RGB LEDs
- Design-wise this keyboard looks very good/li>
- Colorful keys

5. HyperX Alloy Core RGB ‘Gaming Keyboard ‘Comfortable Quiet Silent Keys with RGB LED
HyperX Alloy Core RGB ‘Gaming Keyboard Review:
HyperX is a well-known brand in gaming, it has many good-quality gaming headsets and gaming keyboards. Right now I’m going to give a review for this HyperX Alloy Core RGB Gaming Keyboard, this keyboard we recommended in our guide for Best RGB Gaming Keyboards because it is cheap and provides a good experience to users whether they use it for typing or gaming.
Features:
This keyboard is very lightweight which maybe many gamers will not like because gaming people prefer a keyboard with good weight so it won’t move from its location easily, but this keyboard got a good base that will keep it in its location. This HyperX Alloy Core RGB gaming keyboard is having dedicated media keys, it uses a braided USB cable which is very good for HyperX because braided cables are less likely to get damaged.
There are many RGB LEDs installed into this keyboard that glows up when the keyboard gets powered or is connected to a PC or laptop. This keyboard is a plug-and-play keyboard which means no restart is required to run it. Overall the looks of this keyboard are good, but I will prefer it for some sort of normal gaming only not for competitive or high-end gaming because the keys of this keyboard are not that strong like other mechanical keyboards.
Gaming:
The keyboard is spill-resistant means it can resist some amount of water but not too much, it got rubber dome switches that are not good from HyperX because these switches gamers don’t prefer and they are not good for gaming. For its RGB lighting, there is no software to control it and it randomly gives RGB so it’s pretty annoying but for a budget keyboard, I guess it’s still fine.
Membrane Keyboard Doesn’t Worth It:
The worst thing about this keyboard is that is not a mechanical keyboard it is a membrane keyboard which is the reason I will buy this keyboard for myself, but I still recommended it to some people who love membrane keyboards so they can get it if they want.
Evidence Review:
The Pros:
- Good compatibility
- RGB LEDs
- Dedicated media keys
- Braided USB cable
- Spill-resistant
- Soft touch
The Cons:
- Rubber dome switches can be tiring.
- Not-so-good ergonomically
- Lack of HyperX Ngenuity support
- Membrane isn’t for everyone

6. Orzly Gaming Keyboard RGB USB Wired Rainbow Keyboards Designed for PC Gamers, PS4, PS5, Laptop, Xbox, Nintendo Switch
Orzly Gaming Keyboard RGB Review:
If it comes to the most budget-end RGB Gaming keyboard then this Orzly Gaming Keyboard is the one with the lowest price and good performance. This keyboard comes at a price of only $14.99 which is insane value for the money but as compared to the above keyboards the build quality and performance will be lower.
This keyboard has multiple RGB LEDs for different keys and also has very clickable keycaps which will provide a good gaming experience along with a good typing experience. This keyboard is a full-size numeric keypad RGB keyboard, it’s the best low-budget RGB keyboard available in the market. It is completely plug-and-play, and no software or special driver is required to run this keyboard.
Ergonomics:
The build quality of this keyboard is good for the price, if I tell you about the ergonomics of this keyboard then I will say that it doesn’t have any wrist-rest or something which can help improve the ergonomics of this keyboard but it has a good key distance with easy pressable keys. The wire is not detachable and it is a normal USB keyboard that is compatible with all USB-supported devices like Macs, PC, and laptops.
Evidence Review:
The Pros:
- Good compatibility with solid design
- Many RGB LEDs for different keys
- Dedicated media keys
- Braided USB cable
- Spill-resistant
- solid key caps
- Clicky sound
- Good key bounce
The Cons:
- Keys distance is not too good for gaming.
- Not-so-good ergonomically
- Very curved key caps
- Hard to clean keys because of the heigt of the key caps
