Which AIO Cooler Size Should You Use In 2023?

AIO Coolers are all in one coolers that actually works to keep your CPU temperature lower than before. AIO Coolers are very much better in performance than normal CPU Coolers and are also expensive than normal CPU Coolers. AIO Coolers are also called Liquid or water CPU Coolers because they supports water-pipes and you can make your PC Build with a water cooling system by using AIO Coolers.

If you are willing to upgrade your current CPU Cooler to an AIO Coolers then i will recommend first to read out guide for choosing the best size which suits your build and then you can read our second guide where we recommended some best AIO Coolers of 2023 that you can consider, the third and final guide is about AIO Coolers installation which also you can read.

120mm AIO Coolers:

There are different sizes of AIO Coolers, they range from 120mm to 420mm. The first and smallest one is 120mm, which is recommended for small builds with low power usage, and low-end CPUs mostly. The 120mm AIO cooler mostly fits at the rear part of the case, the body will be installed above the CPU but the AIO Cooler fan will be fitted to the rear part where it will flow the air directly to the CPU.

120mm AIO Coolers are also cheaper and require less power, so if you are having a low wattage PSU like 550W or further lower then you should only go with 120mm AIO Coolers because, for larger size AIO coolers, you will also need to upgrade your PSU. Recommended CPUs with 120mm are CPUs like Intel core i5 6th gen, 7th gen and i7 6th generation and 7th generation, and all the other mid-range and lower-end CPUs.

240mm AIO Coolers:

The second size for AIO Cooler is 240mm which is also one of the most used sizes because it is best for mid-range and powerful CPUs like Intel Core i7 9th generation, 10th generation, and higher CPUs. This requires almost double the power as compared to the 120mm AIO Coolers because it has more RGB and double fans which will also give higher performance. The price of 240mm is apparently higher than the prices of the 120mm coolers, but these are better than any Normal CPU coolers or 120mm AIO coolers by performance.

280mm AIO Coolers:

The third AIO Cooler size which you can use in 2023 for your powerful CPUs Like Intel Core i7 10th Generation and above. The 280mm Coolers will work almost the same as 240mm because there is very little performance and size difference between both so if you are having little space in your case but wants a better AIO Coolers than the 240mm then you can consider going for the 280mm AIO Coolers,

360mm AIO Coolers:

Corsair iCUE H150i Elite Capellix Liquid CPU Cooler 360mm (Best AIO Cooler)
Corsair iCUE H150i Elite Capellix Liquid CPU Cooler 360mm (Best AIO Cooler)

The fourth recommended size for AIO Coolers is 360mm which is one of the most used AIO Cooler sizes and also it is the best of all. This size (360mm) is the most recommended size for any AIO Cooler and also any high-end CPU and a good Build like Intel core i9-13900K, i9-12900K, AMD Ryzen 9 7900 XTX, etc.

This Cooler size is best for any CPU or GPU it can provide amazing cooling performance and will keep your CPU temperature very good and cool. The performance difference between 240mm, 120mm, and 360mm is very big because 360mm uses 3 fans and is amazing at temperature control, if you are getting 60 degrees on a 240mm AIO Cooler by upgrading it to 360mm you can get up to 42 and lower degree temperature.

420mm AIO Coolers:

Corsair-iCUE-170i-420mm-AIO-Cooler

The largest size for AIO Coolers is 420mm which is very less used by gamers and PC Enthusiasts because this cooler is extremely large and needs a full-size large Case with enough space for a 420mm AIO Cooler. This Cooler takes up large space but with extra space, it also requires more power than other coolers, with higher power usage means you will have to get a good wattage PSU like 1250 W or 1200 W because this cooler size is very less efficient for power usage.

Large size means more performance so this cooler is for sure better in performance as compared to 360mm coolers but I think that doesn’t really matter too much because 360mm coolers can do everything that this cooler is doing, but still, I can recommend these coolers for those builds with multiple GPUs and workstation CPUs because they generate too much heat which can be handled by installing this cooler.

Are AIO Coolers Worth it in 2023?

Yes, Definitely because with time the CPUs are getting powerful and are also generating more heat than before so right now everyone is upgrading to AIO Coolers from their current normal CPU Coolers which is a good strategy because with the current market CPUs you can not go with any normal or low-end CPU Coolers that can damage your CPU and get it overheated which will directly effect the performance of the CPU.
