AMD Ryzen 5 5500U Review:

AMD Ryzen 5 5500U is one of the most powerful and budget gaming laptop processors which was released by AMD on Jan 12th, 2021. It comes in several HP and Dell laptops like Dell Inspiron 14 – 7415, HP 15-EF2127WM, and HP 14 laptops, etc. This is an AMD’s APU processor, an APU is AMD processor which has both the ability for CPU and GPU Combined, these are mostly built for laptops only because laptops are small and they need a CPU that also has integrated graphics memory inside it.

AMD Ryzen 5 5500U is based on AMD Zen 2 Micro-Architecture mostly found in leaner laptops.

Performance:

AMD Ryzen 5 5500U comes with a base frequency of 2.10 GHz and a turbo clock or boost clock of 3.40 GHz, it has 6 cores and 12 threads it is built on 7nm architecture with a die size of 74mm. It’s one of the best budget and most powerful processors of the AMD Ryzen 5 series whether we compare it to its Benchmark results or its Gaming performance. It has beaten most of the intel high-end processors in the benchmark results. It comes with the socket of AMD socket FP6 and PCI 3.0 with 12 lanes.

Gaming Benchmarks:

Features:

AMD Ryzen 5 5500U  supports the SMT(Simultaneous Multi-Threading) feature, what this feature does is enables your processor to put all the Threads at work at the same time, if this processor is having 12 Threads then all the Threads will be running 7 simultaneously. It also supports hyper-threading which will give a boost to the performance of your processor’s every thread.

Graphics:

AMD has put AMD Radeon 7(Renior) graphics inside this processor which is having a Base frequency of 1.80 GHz with 7 execution units and shader units of 448. This GPU won’t have any Turbo clock or Turbo frequency. It has a direct x version 12 which can support up to three maximum displays, it is also based on 7nm Technology. This GPU inside AMD Ryzen 5 5500U has 64Bit support which will make you play some of the big PC games on normal settings at least.

Memory And TDP:

AMD Ryzen 5 5500U supports ECC memory, it has the capacity to carry up to 128 GB of RAM Memory and it comes with memory dual channels which support DDR4-3200 MHz RAM. For Speed, AMT has put an 8MB of L3 cache, and it comes with 768 KB of L1 cache and 3 MB of L2 cache which will help speed up the processes loading or opening tasks. The maximum temperature this processor can hold is 105°C, but for better cooling, you will need a high-end cooler. It comes with a TDP Up of 25W and a TDP Down of 10W.
